Protection and processing of personal data

Your presence here is important to us, it shows your interest in our products and services, which is why we collect and process some data about you. Because it is important that you understand what we offer you, what data we collect, who and why we process it and for what purposes, and what rights you have in relation to this data, we invite you to read on!

We promise we will try to make this experience as simple and short as possible, so as not to detract from the original purpose of your visit. But the new Personal Data Act requires us to ask your consent for the data we collect.

Under the law we have an obligation to let you know about your personal data, and that's exactly what we're going to do in the following lines, so please read carefully.

What data do we collect/process?

For the most part, this is data that cannot directly identify you personally, but which, if you provide us with additional information, can lead to or contribute to your identification as a person. Let's take them one by one:

Web traffic data through our website, such as:

• IP address

• operating system, operating system version, screen resolution, browser type and version used

• the pages or files accessed within our site

• the source of your traffic to our site (if, for example, you found us using a Google search or by clicking on a link in Facebook) and the keywords you searched for us by

• the date and time you visited the different pages of the site, the duration of your visit to each page

• what internet service provider you used

• the geographical area from which your visit originated (down to the locality level)

• abusive or unauthorised access to the site's resources

via Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager

• age category data (only if logged into your google account)

• shopping preferences and interests related to the theme of our website (only if logged into your google account)

• whether or not you have Javascript enabled in your browser

• the entry page and exit page of our website and the route you used during your visit

• the type of equipment used to access the site, whether desktop, tablet, mobile phone (for the latter two, including their make and model)

Cookies, small encrypted text files that store information about:

• A unique session identifier for your visit

• Whether or not you have Javascript enabled in your browser

• Whether or not you have logged in to our site with your username/password, in which case we will link you with additional data such as your name, surname, user, email address, phone number, CNP, CUI (in the case of companies), bank account

• Products added/deleted from the shopping cart

Newsletter, or communication of offers and news by email for which we use the following information:

• Your name and email address

• Your customer history of PETERS COOLING

What are the purposes of collection/processing?

There are several main reasons behind the collection and processing of personal data:

The legitimate interest of the controller, which includes the following grounds

• Adjustment and continuous improvement of the website by monitoring access to its pages

• Profiling of visitors by geographic areas, time intervals and/or other commercial criteria, in order to identify categories with high interest or reasons for low interest in other categories, improving the information on the site and the commercial offer according to the results

• Automation of the sales process via the website

• Improving the site user experience

• Commercial communication on products/services offered, offers, promotions or stock clearance

Ensuring the stability and security of the site by identifying attempts to fraudulently access or abuse server resources

Who does the collection/processing?

Sales and newsletter data are collected and managed by PETERS COOLING. They contain clearly identifiable personal data, are stored using dedicated applications (accounting/invoicing/offering software, newsletter application), in a secure manner, within the internal network of  PETERS COOLING SRL.

Under partners, there are three positions:

The hosting company that hosts our website (https://wix.com)

The inevitable Google, through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

Both partners contribute to the collection and processing of data that for us are not clearly identifiable, in the absence of additional information from data subjects.

Simply put, we can learn from the data collected by these partners that you are from Dubai, that you visited us using a Samsung Galaxy A5, that you spent 16 minutes on our website, that you used Firefox Mobile and other similar information, but we cannot learn that your name is Alexander James or that you live at Sheikh Zayed Road unless you inform us in some way that it was you, Alexander James, with IP XXX on YYY. In terms of the law, this data is called "pseudonymised data".

The information is stored by the partners for XX months, after which it is automatically deleted without the possibility of retrieval.

Who else has access to this data?

By law, data on commercial transactions are reported to various state institutions. So, if you have bought something from us, either products or services, it means that the data on your invoice will go to all state bodies that have the right by law to collect/hold such information.

State bodies also have the legal right to oblige us to pass on personal or pseudonymised information in the case of inquiries and/or investigations of any kind.

Of course, data information may also be transmitted to partner companies, courier service providers, payment service providers, insurance companies that comply with the same laws as we do.

We strive to protect and secure as best we can all the information we collect, either directly or through partners.

What rights do you have in relation to this data?

You should however keep in mind that the vast majority of personal data collected/processed by us is psedonymised (as you saw above) and as such in order to identify you in our databases, we will need you to provide us with more personal data, such as your name, your IP address, your email address.

But we want you to be in the know, because privacy is important to us too. Here are the rights you can make use of:

• Right to information - you can request information about your registered personal data as well as information about the processing activities of your personal data; write to us at adresaoffice@peterscooling.uae

• Right to rectification - you can rectify inaccurate personal data or complete them; write to us at office@peterscooling.uae

• Right to erasure of data ("right to be forgotten") - you can get your data erased if the processing was not lawful, we did not have your consent to it or simply because you want us to; but remember that we cannot erase data that is the subject of accounting records (invoices, notices, proformas, receipts, orders) or the subject of commercial contracts; there are other laws that oblige us to keep this data! write to us at office@peterscooling.uae

• Right to restrict processing - you can request restriction of processing if you question the accuracy of the data and in other cases provided for by law; write to us at office@peterscooling.uae

• Right to object - you can object to data processing based on our legitimate interest, but depending on the situation, your objection may prevent us from serving you; write to us at office@peterscooling.uae

• Right to data portability - you can receive, under certain conditions, the personal data you have provided to us in a machine-readable format or request that the data be transferred to another controller; write to us at office@peterscooling.uae

• Right to withdraw consent - you may withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data at any time; withdrawal of consent will only be effective for the future, the processing carried out prior to withdrawal will remain valid;
